CEO Nike Center for Art and Culture, Chief Mrs Nike Davies Okundaye celebrated her 64th birthday last weekend (May 23rd 2015). She was celebrated by friends, family and art lovers as she threw open the doors of at her famous art gallery in Lekki Lagos.
The history of traditional Art and craft in Nigeria would be incomplete without the story of “Mama Nike” as she’s popularly called. She is globally known for promoting Nigerian art and culture through colourful Batiks designs and paintings. In the last twenty years, “Mama Nike” has held various workshops and lectures on traditional Nigerian textiles in the United States and Europe. More great years ahead Mama Nike!
