Polly Alakija is no doubt one of Africa’s creative artists, amazingly one of Nigeria’s most innovative and inspirational art personalities.
Polly, who moved from the UK to Nigeria in 1989, has been an emerging force in the art and creative industry. Drawing her inspiration from Traditional African everyday life, her work has been simply amazing and innovative.
“Alakija’s work offers a view of African life from a transnational point of view. She has developed a passion for the place (Nigeria) and its lifestyle, not as a traveler visiting exotic destinations but as someone living in a community and coming to terms with the complexity of the world around her” – Rael Jero-Salley, MFA PhD, Professor Micheali School of Arts, Cape Town.
Polly is currently showcasing her amazing works at Quintessence, Park View, Ikoyi. Visit and show some love to this amazing woman of supernatural creativity. The Exhibition titled “the prints” is on from 19th September to 11th of October 2015.
