The 2015 Ake Arts and Book Festivals (AABF) is a couple of days away and gradually, momentum has spiked in terms of publicity as the literary feast prepares to take the world by storm. At the press conference held at the White Space hotel, Journalists and representatives of different Media outfits came in drove to discuss how to achieve a comprehensive media publicity for the festival which is due in few weeks’ time.

The Publicity and Communications Officer for the festival: Miss Benyan Jessica Bitrus started the press briefing by giving an official background to the festival and its program of events for the 2015 outing.

The festival director- Ms Lola Shoneyin also gave an overview of the event emphasizing the modalities for this year and who the major sponsors and supporters of the festival are. On the aims and objectives of the Ake Arts and Book Festival, Lola stressed that “creating conversation and engaging African writers and creatives as regards ways to move Africa forward intellectually “ is what gives her utmost joy in the festival.

Fielding questions from Journalists later, Ms. Shoneyin added that the festival is not all about her, even though the brand was a brainchild, she said the festival gets better every year even with her less in the picture.

The 2015 festival starts on the 17th of November, 2015 and will feature the best of African and world writers and media gurus all over the world.
