In collaboration with our partners #DreamAfrica we are using this week to continue honoring the lives of the young people lost during the Soweto Uprising in South Africa in 1976.
Public Art students have been learning about and developing images focusing on Africans who have used their talents and skills to push for the rights and progress of African people.
This Mobile Mural project is being developed in partnership with ASIRI, Nima: Muhinmanchi Art, AB Artworld, and mural artists from Nigeria, Ghana and the US.
Individuals featured on this mural based on the theme “Past, Present and Future” are Wole Soyinka, Nelson Mandela, Madame Ransome Kuti, Obafemi Owolowo, Miriam Akeeba, Tai Solarin, Nneka, Peter Abrams, Hamilton Naki, Steve Biko, Thomas Sankara, Chimamanda Adichie, Kwame Nkrumah, and more.
