Award-winning filmmaker, writer and photographer Femi ODUGBEMI is back, showing the Photographer side of him with an exhibition titled LOST N TRANSLATION.
The exhibition is an invitation to beholders to contemplate realities beyond that which is seen, rather as an engagement of personalities and experiences. In his note on the exhibition, Femi Odugbemi explains that ‘All realities are relative and personal. Psychologists tell us there is a little bit of ourselves in everything. We do more than see things, we actually ‘perceive’ them through the filters of our consciousness, a state of being that is in fact a collage of our experiences, ambitions and determinations. In other words, we see things not as they are, but as we are.
Lost ‘N’ Translation is open free to the public at Freedom Park, Broad Street, Lagos, from 11am to 5pm daily. It is indeed a rare opportunity to meet a Femi Odugbemi and have a feel of what creative greatness feels and looks like.
Femi’s art as a photographer is quite eclectic and his approach is at once alluring and unusual.
